Fracking - Capital Public Radio's Environment Reporter Kathleen Masterson investigates the controversy surrounding oil companies' use of hydraulic fracturing in California to extract natural gas.
Richard Beeman - The Sacramento Public Library annually selects a book which encourages the entire Sacramento community to read and attend book-themed programs at our library locations in each fall. This year's One Book Sacramento project will encourage area residents to read and discuss two books which focus on the US Constitution: The Penguin Guide to the United States Constitution by Dr. Richard R. Beeman. Here in studio is Dr. Beeman to speak with us about the Founding Fathers and American presidential elections.
Viva La Musica! - "¡Viva La Música!" is the Sacramento Philharmonic's rhythmically charged celebration of our region's spirit - and a virtual "Who's Who" of internationally-recognized and award-winning composers with Latino roots or ties. We'll talk with the Sacramento Philharmonic's guest artists Juan Pablo "JP" Jofre, who plays the bandoneon, and Polly Ferman, pianist.
Sound Advice: Blue Dog Jam - Nick Brunner, host of Capital Public Radio's Blue Dog Jam, joins us with some of the music he's featuring this Saturday night including a live performance by Austin roots band The Lonesome Heroes, recorded in Capital Public Radio's studio.
